A molecular, scalable, building block for quantum computing

QUANTUM COMPUTING:

A grant of DKK 4m from the Villum Foundation has been given to associate professor Stergios Piligkos.

For the project entitled "Novel aspects of lanthanide magnetism for quantum information applications", Associate Professor Stergios Piligkos has received a total of DKK 4 million from the Villum Foundation. 

"The grant allows us to study static and dynamic magnetic properties of complexes for the realization of quantum gates to be potentially used in quantum computers. I look forward to contributing to device development protocols for quantum computing", says Stergios Piligkos.

The future quantum devices will incorporate molecular magnetic materials that not only serve the obvious purpose of miniaturisation, but also allow the exploitation of the quantum properties that matter exhibits at the molecular scale and for scalability.”
