Jubilee for lecturer

Chemistry Jubilee

For decades the Department of Chemistry has had a very special offer for higher secondary schools in Denmark: The legendary “Lectures with chemical classroom demonstrations” which are launched a month into every New Year. Associate Professor Anders Døssing has now been in charge of the lectures long enough that he was celebrated for his 50th lecture on Wednesday February 3rd 2016.

1.000 visitors in just one week. Every year

Ably assisted by laboratory technician Solveig Kallesøe, Døssing welcomes up to 1.000 visitors every year. This makes his lectures the undisputedly largest recruiting activity at the Department. Apart from bubbles, bangs and a wealth of colours, the visitors were treated to a commercial plug by Communications Officer Jes Andersen, where they were told that University of Copenhagen is counted among the global top 50 and that the programme in chemistry at UCPH is among the most creative, international, flexible and secure in terms of job-prospects.
