Bachelor chemists find right path
Chemistry bachelor students at UCPH have a lot of choices to make. They have to choose one of the four specializations and they have to choose a supervisor for their bachelor project. To ease the choice chemistry bachelor students at UCPH were invited on April 24th to attend the annual “Find din hylde” or “Find your path” event at the Department of Chemistry.
Talks about bachelor specilizations, studies abroad and teaching jobs
At the event those wrapping up their first year could attend talks about environmental chemistry, medicinal chemistry, green and sustainable chemistry and the tailor-made “Do it yourself” package. All from students who have been through the programmes. Additionally the first year students got to hear about studying abroad and the job openings for those who choose to study to become high school teachers.
Meeting the supervisors in their natural habitat
For second year students options are even more numerous. During their third year they are to work out a bachelor project. This is a task requiring them to carry out an original work of research within theoretical, computational or synthetic chemistry, and to write about it. As the bachelor project includes research students are free to choose as their supervisor any of the 51 permanent scientific staff, so all researchers were out to present themselves.
