Patent licensing: Indoor Air cleaning
Industry and government
Department of Chemistry provides councelling, analysis, research and development for industry and government. The researchers at the Department strive to develop better chemical substances and processes, and to determine how they affect the environment and climate. The department's researchers search for both basic knowledge and production-ready ideas. Preferably in collaboration with Danish and international companies that can market the ideas.
Collaboration
Collaborations between the Department of Chemistry and industry, government and organizations can be organized in a number of ways.
Joint research projects based on co-financing is where both parties invest ressources in the project. This might be the invention of new products or the development of existing ones. In both cases your busines will get competent advice from excellent scientists.
We form strategic partnerships with commercial companies, public-sector bodies and other organisations, usually for five years and with an option for and expectation of renewal.
If you want to hire a researcher, you have several options: You can choose a young researcher as an Industrial PhD or Industrial postdoc, or a senior researcher in a co-funded associate professorship or professorship.
The University of Copenhagen owns the rights to its researchers' inventions, but we strive to ensure that as many inventions as possible are used by companies in Denmark and abroad – usually via licensing agreements.
Analysis services
The Department of Chemistry disposes a selection of analysis methods and provides services in connection with execution of analyses.
Information about the analysis methods available as well as contact information can be found below.
Inquiry about prices etc. on tel. 35 32 01 01 too: Jesper Bendix, bendix@kiku.dk
For information and prices about cirkulardichroisme and magnetocirkulardichroisme measurements contact professor Jesper Bendix on tel. 35 32 01 01, bendix@chem.ku.dk.
Mikro analysis is a quantitative analysis of an organic chemical matter to determine the relative amounts of the elements it consists of. The analysis is carried out with as little amounts as 1,5-2 mg. of the matter. Double determinations are made. Since there also is a waste, a minimum of approximately 10 mg. of the matters to be analyzed is requested.
The analysis is performed on an instrument called FlesgEA 1112.
We perform analyzes of C, H and N.
Inquiry about prices etc. are made to laboratory technician Annette Andersen on tel. 35 32 01 11, anette@chem.ku.dk.
For information and prices on execution of Electron Paramagnetic Ressonance spectroskopi contact tel: 35 32 01 01 til: Jesper Bendix, bendix@kiku.dk.

Mass spectrometric research unit has deposal over the following instruments:
- Jeol four- sector instrument with the ionization methods EI, CI og FAB
- Micromass quadrupole flight time instrument with ESI
- Bruker flight time instrument with MALDI
- Hewlett-Packard GC-MS instrument with EI
The following analyzes are routinely performed on these instruments:
- Absorption of mass spectra with the ionizations methods EI, CI, ESI, FAB og MALDI
- Accurate determinations of mass in connection with EI, CI, ESI og FAB.
- absorption of activation spectra of collision (MS-MS analyses) can be performed after arrangement.

Inquiry about prices etc. must happen to Christian Tortzen, tortzen@kiku.dk, tel. 35 32 01 76.
Spin-out
The Department of Chemistry is focussed on innovation and entrepreneurship. We strive to apply for patents. Alone or in collaboration with the businesses who financed the research. Some patents are licenced to existing companies. Others are exploited by the researchers themselves in start-up companies.
