The Nobel Crystal Ball
Four scientists from the Department of Chemistry at UCPH try their hand at fortune telling, shortly before the Nobel Committee in Stockholm reveal the identity of this year’s Nobel laureate in Chemistry. Each speaker will nominate one or more chemists of international renown. In a short presentation, the speaker will justify the nomination, explaining what breakthrough deserves the honor.

17:00 – 17:30 Meet and greet – Beer and soft drinks will be served in Auditorium 1
17:30 – 17:40 The audience quizzes in trivia regarding the Nobel Prizes.
17:40 – 17:50 ” Welcome” by Pernille Harris, Head of Department – Why are we gathered and what is going to happen
17:50 – 18:55 Five researchers present their nominees:

The questionnaire panel at the Nobel Crystal Ball consists of Professor Kurt Mikkelsen (chair), Professor Jesper Bendix, and Professor Nikos Hatzakis.
18:55 – 19:00 The audience cast their votes by mobile phone, choosing which candidate they think should be awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
19:00 - 19:30 Beer, soft drinks and cake will be served in Auditorium 1.
