Inflection Award for Margarita Poderyte
Margarita Poderyte, a PhD candidate at Department of Chemistry, University of Copenhagen and working in the Jiwoong Lee group, has been recognized as one of the world’s 30 most promising young scientists at the Inflection Award, the world’s first-ever award dedicated to celebrating early-career scientists working on solutions to climate change.

Selected through a rigorous assessment process by a panel of 17 judges, representing leading institutions and organizations tackling the climate crisis, Margarita Poderyte stood out among 500+ applicants worldwide for their groundbreaking research in and its potential to drive real-world impact.
Speaking about this recognition, Margarita Poderyte said:
"Winning the Inflection Award is an incredible milestone, providing international recognition for our work and opening up opportunities to connect with the partnerships essential for scaling our solution. Addressing climate change requires a vast network and a diversity of approaches—no single solution can solve this global challenge. Personally, winning this award is a huge boost to my ambition and motivation. I truly believe that scientists and researchers need to sometimes step out of the lab, talk about their ideas, and push to bring those ideas to market. Climate change is a collective problem, and only by working together—scientists, innovators, businesses, and investors—can we create lasting solutions".
All 30 awardees were brought to Paris for an exclusive two-day event, where they had a firsthand learning experience with some of the most influential figures in climate science, investment, and policy. From the biggest names in climate tech venture capital to top executives at Breakthrough Energy, RMI, Quadrature Climate Foundation, and more, the program provided unparalleled access to the best minds in the field, equipping these young scientists with the tools and networks to scale their impact.
The 2025 Inflection Award cohort comprises PhD students and graduates from the world’s top institutions, including MIT, Oxford, ETH Zurich, Stanford, and others. Each awardee is working on cutting-edge solutions to climate change across diverse sectors, from chemical engineering to geosciences, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in climate innovation. The award is organized by Marble, Europe’s only deeptech venture studio exclusively focused on climate, and proudly supported by Breakthrough Energy Fellows and the Quadrature Climate Foundation.
