LEAF certification for laboratories at Chemistry

LEAF

The Centre for High Entropy Alloy Catalysis, CHEAC, which has four laboratories, has received LEAF certification.

LEAF certification for laboratories at Chemistry

LEAF stands for Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework, and laboratories are awarded either a bronze, silver or gold level depending on how many sustainability measures they implement.

This time it is the bronze certification that the chemistry laboratories have received, and it was awarded on the basis that the laboratory's employees have organised the laboratory according to 17 criteria, all of which contribute to reducing energy consumption and waste, optimising equipment and increasing safety for the laboratories' users.

All employees have contributed to achieving the certification and we are proud that our centre contributes to reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions. The next step will be to go for the silver certification.".

says Lab manager Tatiana Yuli Morante Bligaard

UCPH has adopted LEAF in order to reduce the environmental footprint of the laboratories. Both SUND and SCIENCE use the LEAF certification as standard.
