New chemistry teaching material coming to high school!
Look forward to exciting and updated chemistry lessons with a focus on sustainability and innovation! New teaching material developed by upper secondary school teachers in collaboration with Aarhus University and the University of Copenhagen - supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

At the Department of Chemistry - Aarhus University and the Department of Chemistry, UCPH - Kemisk Institut, Københavns Universitet, we are putting the final touches on an exciting outreach initiative.
Over the past two years, experienced high school chemistry teachers, Mie Olsen and Christine Brænder Almstrup, have been developing research-based teaching materials tailored to the Danish high school chemistry curriculum.
Supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, the project aims to bring cutting-edge chemical research into the classroom having a clear focus on chemistry as part of the solution to global challenges in health, the environment, and energy storage.
This August, we will launch the materials on alterkemi.dk, where teachers can explore topics such as:
- New Medicine with a Click
- Batteries of the Future
- Power-to-X and Catalysis - from Green Energy to Fuels and Chemicals
- CO₂ – from climate villain to building block
… and many more.
All materials will be freely available, and the resources include texts, assignments, experiments, and links to external learning sources.
