Center for 4D Cell Dynamics
The NNF-center for 4D cell dynamics is an interdisciplinary research infrastructure center whose purpose is to provide local researchers with state of the art equipment for 4D imaging and expertise with quantitative image analysis of biological systems.
The center is funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
Lattice light sheet microscopy (LLSM) offers fast image acquisition and low phototoxicity imaging of live cells and tissues in 3D. Enabling researchers to examine biological mechanisms with previously unachievable levels of spatio-temporal resolution. Currently, the facility is not fully functional as minor adjustments to the microscope are being made. These do not prevent imaging, but are crucial for quantitative image analysis.
The center for 4D cell dynamics welcomes researchers who are interested in collaborating with us. Researchers can submit their project proposals to the center for evaluation. The proposals will be assessed based on their relevance and applicability according to the compatibility with equipment specifications, scientific excellence of the research, availability of resources required to complete the project, and compliance with Danish legislation. To apply, researchers should contact us with a brief 1 page description of their proposed activity, expected tool usage, and the number of users involved. As the facility is not fully functional yet, we might be limited in the amount or type of projects we can take on. We will assess whether we can accommodate every project on an individual basis.
Lattice Light Sheet Microscope (LLSM) employs a lattice pattern of light sheets to illuminate samples; it captures high-speed, high-resolution images of biological processes as they unfold in real-time, with minimal damage to delicate biological specimens.
The microscope in the facility is a customised LLSM from Zeiss equipped with stronger lasers and sensitive cameras for low photon count imaging.
